Statement:
As an emotionally expressive painter, I use the human figure to portray what I feel because I believe we all share the same emotions. In doing so, I often juxtapose expressive and figurative art styles. Oil paint has become my favorite medium since it allows the colors to both contrast and blend organically with time, as well as giving the subject a rich texture. When making art, I am recognizing and releasing a part of myself that might not otherwise be visible.
